The University of Great Falls is glad to present the 5th Annual Buffalo Jump Half Marathon, 10K and 3-Mile Walk at the First People’s Buffalo Jump State Park (formerly Ulm Pishkun State Park). Register here at Prerace for the Half Marathon and 10K, and register for the 3-Mile Walk at the park on the day of the event ($10).

Along the race route, runners enjoy gorgeous views of the scenery all around the park, including the Big Belt Mountains and Little Belt Mountains in the distance, as well as the natural area known as Square Butte, which lies roughly 2,400 feet above the surrounding flat plains and is a frequent perch both for the herds of mountain goats in the area as well as many species of raptor birds.

Prizes for top 3 men and women, and top man and woman master’s finishers.

Course
All three events begin in the park just outside the family-friendly Buffalo Jump Museum (bring the kids!). The Half Marathon course loops through the nearby city of Ulm; the 10K course winds its way up to the top of one of the largest Buffalo Jump Cliffs in North America; the 3-Mile Walk follows a trail below the cliffs with breathtaking views of the surrounding country. Events begin at 8:00AM.
