HRCA Splash Mash Dash Junior Triathlon

In the 2012 season the Splash Mash Dash will offer a Junior distance Triathlon. This will be a USAT sanctioned event for 12-17 year olds.

Date: Saturday, August 11

Time: 6:00 a.m.

Location: Recreation Center at Northridge, 8801 Broadway, Highlands Ranch, CO 80126

Fees*:

Early Bird Registration: $50 (online registration only, ends at 11:59 pm on August 6th. This does not include the Junior Annual USAT fee of $5)
2 Weeks Prior to Race Registration: $60 (ends at noon on August 17th)
No Race Day Registration

Triathlon Distances:

Swim: 300 yards
Bike: 9.25 miles Map
Run: 2.5 miles Map

Informational Race Director Meeting: 7:00pm, August 16th @ The Recreation Northridge at ER (poolside). This meeting will cover all you need to know about the race with a question and answer period.

Swim Time Changes: Please submit changes by TBD at 5pm. We will not make any changes after this date. Submit to Mike at mpolete@hrcaonline.org.

Start Times: You will receive your start time at packet pick up.

Chip Timing: You will receive your chip in the pool area on race morning.

Awards: Awards will be given out to male and female top 3 finishers in both age groups.

RACE DETAILS

Pre-race Meetings: OPTIONAL -HRCA Race Director will present a pre race clinic onsite at Northridge on TBD from 7-8pm. Race details and rules will be covered.

Pre-race Day Packet Pick-up: TBD, 3:30 to 6:00pm at The Recreation Center at Northridge at the Outdoor pool. Please remember to bring your ID and USAT card if you have one. NO ID = NO RACE.

Mandatory Meetings: Will be held during packet pick up. Meetings will be held at 4:30 and 5:30PM. You Must attend one of these meetings. This is your time to ask any questions you and your child might have concerning the course, pool, transition area and race day information.

Parking: All parking for race participants will be available across the street from the Recreation Center

Body Marking: Every participant must be body marked in order to enter the transition area. Please have your bib number and start information ready when you arrive to body marking. You will be body marked at packet pick up

Swim: The swim is a 300 meter outdoor swim. Racers will swim 12 lengths or 6 laps (one length = one distance of the pool) in the pool. Once finished they will continue to the transition area. Everyone will start in the pool. We will have 4 per lane starting in 5 second intervals. If you must pass someone please tap them on the foot and pass at the end of your lane. Remember, you will receive your timing chip in the pool area before you start the race.

Bike: 9.25 miles.

Run: 2.5 miles

Finish Line: Stick around post race for food, raffle prizes and awards. Time to celebrate!

Race results will be posted within 24 hours after the race. Results provided by Colorado Race Timing.
