Kids Tune Up Triathlon
This race is a great way to introduce your children to the triathlon sport. This is a fun and safe event for your family to enjoy together!

$40 until 2 weeks prior then $45 (Online Pre-registration Only)

Both the Kid's Tune Up Tri and the Kid's Splash Mash Dash Tri are available as a package for $70. Be sure to select the Kid' Tri Package Deal when registering.

Family discounts available $40 first child, $35 second child, $30 third child, $25 fourth child, 5th child is free. Must all have same last name and register at one of the Recreation Centers.

Triathlon Distances: 4-6 years: 25 yard swim, .82 mile bike, .20 mile run
7-9 years: 50 yard swim, 1.88 mile bike, .4 mile run
10-12 years: 100 yard swim, 3.1 mile bike, 1 mile run
(The regular Tune Up is available for ages 12 and up)

RACE DETAILS

Pre-race Day Packet Pick-up: Friday, June 8th, 3:30 p.m. - 7 p.m. at the Highlands Ranch BikeSource.

Pre-race Mandatory Parental Meetings: there will be two meetings Friday at BikeSource. Parents, pick the one that works the best for you. The first meeting is at 5pm and the second meeting is at 7pm. This is extremely important for parents to attend. Parents need to know the rules of the race so you can explain them to your child.

Race FAQs: we want this to be an enjoyable experience for your child. Let's keep it a fun environment. This is a great way to introduce your child to triathlons. Positive encouragement is mandatory!

Parking: Additional parking will be available across the street from the Recreation Center

Hotel: The Hilton Garden Inn is located in Highlands Ranch. They are offering special discounted rates to race participants. Please call 1-877-StayHGI or go to www.stayhgi.com to make your reservation.

Transition Area: One parent per child will be allowed in the transition area. We ask that everyone will please stay out of the area due to safety reasons.

Swim: The 4-6 year olds will complete 1 length of the indoor pool. The 7-9 year olds will complete 1 lap in the pool. The 10-12 year olds will complete 2 laps in the pool. Any style of swim is acceptable. Children can take a break during their swim if necessary. There will be lifeguards on duty and in the pool for assistance if required. Flotation devices are not allowed.

Bike: The 4-6 year olds will complete 1 loop around Marcy Gulch Park behind Westridge. The 7-9 year olds will continue past Marcy Gulch park to a turn around point that will be clearly labeled. The 10-12 year olds will ride the adult 5K course for thier bike leg. Children will be riding on the same trail coming in and out of the transition area. Please inform your child to ride on the right. We will have many volunteers on the course to keep it safe.

Run: The 4-6 year olds will exit the transition area and will run to the south side walk along Highlands Ranch Parkway. They will not be on the road. We will have volunteers to monitor this and cones will be along the sidewalk. They will stay on the sidewalk and turn right onto Foothils Canyon Blvd. Then they will turn right, still on the sidewalk, into the Westridge entrance. Then right again into the parking lot to the finish line. The 7-9 year olds will do 2 loops and then into the finish line. 10-12 year olds will run out of the transition area to a course TBD for a total of 1 mile. the course will be clearly marked.
