Pedal A Path To Independence for People Who Are Blind
Early registration has closed, but we'd still like you to join us on February 25, 2012 at DeVinci's Delicatessen and Catering, 18847 East Front Street, Linden. Rider check in will open at 8:30 a.m.; riders may start any time between 8:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. The course will close at 3:00 p.m. Post ride meal service will begin at 11:30 a.m. and end at 3:30 p.m. Please visit Community Center for the Blind for details.
Community Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired has been “Lighting Paths to Independent Living” since 1949. The agency provides specialized services to meet the rehabilitative, emotional, recreational and social needs of individuals whose vision loss impairs the ability to perform tasks of daily living. Thank you for helping Community Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired pursue its mission to help people remain independent. Last year, riders, sponsors and volunteers helped Community Center for the Blind raise approximately $7,500.00 to support vital programs and services.
Gratitude goes to the wonderful sponsors and volunteers who've stepped up to the plate to make this year's event happen. Please visit Community Center for the Blind to see the entire list. We'd appreciate your visiting our sponsors websites to learn more about them, too.
The Routes
Metric Century (65 miles 1,300 feet of elevation gain):The route leaves Linden, the “Cherry Capital of the World”, then traverses the quiet back roads of San Joaquin, Stanislaus and Calaveras counties. The towns of Linden, Peters, Farmington, Eugene, Milton, Jenny Lind and Bellota await you. Almond, apple, cherry, peach, pear, plum and walnut orchards abound as do vineyards. Fully stocked rest stops will provide fuel and hydration; you’ll enjoy a wonderful lunch midway through the ride and a scrumptious post ride meal catered by DeVinci’s Linden at the finish.
