KING OF THE MOUNTAIN “PRESENTED BY GOLDEN’S STAGE 6 OF THE USA PRO CYCLING CHALLENGE”

COURSE: A 4.5 mile individual time trial to the top of Lookout Mountain. This is a challenging climb with 1,228 feet of elevation gain. The course record is 16:04. THE RACE COURSE IS OPEN TO TRAFFIC.

Directions: From Denver, drive west on 6th Avenue to 19th Street in Golden and turn left at 19th Street (Lariat Loop road). From Boulder take Hwy. 93 South to Golden and turn right at 19th Street. From the stop light the start will be at the Pillars about a half mile up the road. Parking is on both sides of the street. Please observe the No Parking Areas and be respectful of the area residents. Carpooling is encouraged.

Registration: All categories must pre-register. There will be no race day registration. On-line registration closes on Tuesday, Aug. 21 at 9 p.m. MT. Pre-registration for all categories is limited to the first 240 racers. For questions, contact Ed Greivel at Click here to send an email.

Entry Fees: Entry fees for all categories is $35.
Junior Men and Women 10 to 14 will race free.
Junior Men and Women 15 to 18 who race in their senior category, entry fee is $20. Use coupon JRVIP at checkout to apply this discounted fee.
ACA membership is recommended to avoid $5 surcharge the day of the race.
Entry fees include USAC insurance surcharges and local association fees. (No Refunds)

Licenses: USAC license is required for all categories. Racers in the Citizen Categories must purchase a one day license ($10) on race day. ACA annual memberships can be purchased on line at Colorado Cycling.

Start Times: The first rider will start at 4 p.m. and subsequent riders will go off in 30-second intervals. The start times will be posted on Peak Cycles Web site Peak Cycles on Thursday, Aug. 23.

Results: Results will be posted on Colorado Cycling.

Awards: Lions Ball Fields at 10th and Illinois at 7:30 p.m. following the race.
