About this event
Boone-Roubaix: the Hell of the High Country
Todd, NC
2011-04-23 - 2011-04-23
USAC Permit Number 2011-756
Event Description Boone-Roubaix, the Hell of the High Country, is America's next great Classic. A road race featuring unpaved roads and multiple selective climbs will test riders, while the breathtaking scenery and unmatched hospitality will combine to make for one of the most memorable races of the year.
Once again, River Girl Fishing Company will be our host. Bring your family and friends to enjoy a day on the New River fishing, tubing, paddling, or just hanging out with Petunia the Pig.
This year we are offering cash prizes for the P123 Men and Women and Master's races, and River Girl tubing, fishing, and paddling packages for Cat 4/5 Men and Cat 4 Women.
Once again this race will be a fundraiser for Wine-to-Water, a 501(c)(3) international aid organization focused on providing clean water to needy people around the world, and volunteers from the Appalachian State University Wine-to-Water campus group will be manning wheel trucks and acting as course marshals.

Course Description Cat 4/5 Men and Women will ill be subjected to a 43 miles course with 2.5 miles of pavé in 6 sections, and 3,682 feet of climbing, including the Koppenberg of the High Country, a long, unpaved climb with grades over 20%.
Pro/1/2/3 and Masters’ races will use Le Grand Parcourse: 54 miles, four of pavé, and 4,565 feet of ascending including two trips up our Koppenberg.
The finish for all races is in Todd near the start and is preceded by 10 flat miles on Railroad Grade road, with no unpaved sections.
