Packet Pickup:
Packet pick up for pre-registered runners, Friday, April 26, 2013 6pm-7pm. Race day pick up beginning at 7am in the school's Multi-Purpose Room.
*There will be no refunds or transfers of bibs.
**Any runner who has not picked up their packet by the completion of the race will forfeit their packet.
Short-sleeved T-shirts for the first 400 pre-registered 5k and 1 mile runners.
Parking:
Limited parking is available at Homestead Elementary School, until 7:30am. Carpooling is encouraged!
Additional on-street parking is available only on streets not used for the run course, including Providence, Lansdale, Grand Ridge Circle, Fairmont, etc.
NO PARKING on streets used for the course (Hillsboro Boulevard and Middlebury Drive). An auxiliary lot is located at Wheatland Park on Spinnaker and Barrington (1 mile from the race start), however, no shuttle will be available.
5k Run/Walk Course:
This flat, fast USAT&F certified 5k run course (IL-10008-JW) and CARA (Chicago Area Runners Association)certified course takes you through the Homestead community, the Wheatland Park, and uses the Fox Valley Park District's bike path. Water and split-time clocks will be available at the 1-mile and 2-mile markers.
5k Age Groups/Awards:
5 & under, 6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+
1 mile: 5 & under, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12-16, 17-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 50+
5K AWARDS Overall first place male and female finishers in the 5K will receive a trophy. 5K age groups, male and female, 1st-3rd place will receive a medal: 5 & under, 6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+
1 mile AWARDS Overall first place male and female finishers, 14 and under, in the 1 mile will receive a trophy. AGE GROUP ONLY finishers will receive a ribbon: 5 & under, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12-16, 17-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 50+
FINISH: Both, the 5K and 1 mile, races will be clock timed by RaceTime. RaceTime will provide computerized race results. Race results will be available online at: prerace.com, and homesteadpta.org
PRIZES: All race entrants, in the 5k and 1 mile, will be eligible to win prizes in the random drawing held after the race. Winners MUST be present to receive a prize.
CHILDCARE:Race time childcare is available free of charge!
Race by weight instead of age!
Runners/walkers can choose to enter the 5K in Clydesdale/Athena weight divisions instead of by age.
Males/Clydesdales can compete in 1 of 4 categories: A 170-184, B 185-199, C 200-224, D 225+ and Females/Athenas can compete in 1 of 4 categories: A 135-144, B 145-154, C 155-169, D 170+. Weighing in on race day will be mandatory.
After-Party:
After-race party will include water, fruit and sponsor samples. Also, Jamba Juice will be available for purchase.
