About this event
Prepare for a southern-style cross-country ride on this, our shortest, most accessible transcontinental trip. To make this tour even better, we’ll enjoy the relative luxury of having the Adventure Cycling van tote our gear to and from each overnight location. Riding unencumbered, we’ll be freed-up to truly enjoy the pleasures of pedaling from the West Coast, across deserts, over mountains, past prairies, beyond bayous, through citrus groves, all the way to our eastern shore. Notable stopovers along this route, each with a unique set of diversions, include Phoenix, Austin, and New Orleans. In between there are many other great sights, sounds, cuisines, and cultures to sample and experience — not to mention that the Southern Tier route is steeped in history, too.

The Southern Tier trip has proven so popular that this year we’re offering the choice of riding from San Diego to St. Augustine in two different seasons and in two different styles. Whether you choose spring or fall, self-contained or supported, you should take advantage of this opportunity to ride across the country in two months time.
