COURSE DESCRIPTION :

The classic Boulder hill climb with over 3,600 Ft. in Elevation gain, will venture up Sugarloaf Rd. & end at Nederland Elementary School. SUPPORT: None, bring a spare, patch kit and pump or get picked up by the sweep vehicle.

DIRECTIONS
Denver: Highway 36 north of Denver, stay on 36 (turns in 28th in Boulder), take a left at Canyon. Justice Center on left just after 6th ave. Boulder: 28th to Canyon, head West on Canyon, Justice Center on left just after 6th Ave.

PARKING:
Start- Parking will be at the Justice Center Parking lot at the corner of 6th and Canyon. There’s not a lot of parking so ride your bike if you can. ALL Finish – Nederland Elementary School, parking lot.

FINE PRINT: Field sizes are limited to 110 per category. All ACA Rules apply, www.americancycling.org. All riders must have valid USAC license (Cat 5 men & Cat 4 women can purchase a 1 day). Your Race age is your age on 12/31/12. Helmets must be worn while racing. Yellow line rule in effect. Race held rain or shine. No refunds are offered on this event. What can we say, it's Boulder version of King of the Mountain! From beginners to pro's come tackle the steeps and switchbacks on the finest Boulder has to offer. Every year the race alternates from Magnolia to Sugarloaf! In 2012 get ready for Sugar Loaf Rd to Nederland Elementary School. For 2013 its Magnolia Rd to Lake Peterson! 3,600 heart pounding vertical ft over 17 miles with 12% grades on Sugarloaf Rd. Cap it off with the hard packed dirt sections of Sugarloaf and you have one of the most exhilarating climbs Boulder has to offer! <br /><br /><br /><br /><br />
Who's the best mountain goat in Colorado; is it the roadies, the triathletes, or the mountain bikers? We'll find out on July 1st!<br /><br /><br /><br /><br />

FROM FT. COLLINS: Travel Highway 287 to Colorado 66 west. Take 66 west to US 36 south (officially US 36 East) to Canyon Blvd west. Canyon west to 6th street. Justice Center will be on your left. Follow marshals to Parking.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br />
FROM BOULDER: Ride your bike! Take Boulder Creek bike path west to 6th street.

The course alternates every year, always up Boulder Canyon but either a left on Magnolia or a right on Sugarloaf and ends near Eldora SKi Resort or Nederland, respectively. This year its on Magnolia...

* 3800 Vertical feet in 18 miles
* 13% Grades on lower Magnolia Rd
* 7 miles of dirt road, finishing off with the last grunt up the Shelf Rd

Classic Hill climb, super hard, great course. Even if you don't like climbing it is nice rolling up Boulder Canyon in the field, once you hit Magnolia your on your own.
